Pray for Love (Nov/Dec 2022 Update)
Now, when I say "love," I'm not only meaning more love for the kids, but we need more prayer for the kids to love God and for them to feel His love. Looking back on this year, I feel like almost all of the kids haven't understood this, and it's the key to loving God. Love is what He is, and if they don't get that, it's going to become routine rather than relationship, and that's what I'm worried about.
The education center has been going great! The kids are being taught more and more about God and who He is, alongside of regular academics. Some of the kids are struggling to get what God is really about, though. Some of them even get mad or upset when
God is mentioned. It hurts to see this happen, and part of it's because of not truly getting what God's love really means and receiving it. Please pray that God truly reveals Himself to them and that they really get His love. Pray also for the parents of these kids, that God does the same in their lives, too.
Our Saturday Kids Church has been going great, too! We've had a pretty great attendance lately, and even more of the parents are getting involved! We recently just finished our series on "Better to Give Than to Receive," and the kids learned that God blesses us so that we can bless others. The kids seem more happy than ever to bless others in need now. But, through all of this, some of the kids just go when their friends go. Some just show up when there's a special event. And, although this happens in about every church, it still hurts to see after teaching them about how amazing God's love is and how much He truly loves them. Please pray for them, that they feel God's presence every Saturday that they're there and that they truly experience His love like they never have before.
Also, I want to thank you all again for the Christmas gifts to the kids! Every single one of them got the gift they asked for, and they were so happy to receive them! They made cards for everyone who sent a gift! If you were one of the people who sent a gift, please email me your address and which kid(s) you bought for to send you a card they made for you!
The Secret Agents of Christ discipleship group is also going pretty well! A lot of the kids are doing their best at memorizing their verses, doing their weekly Bible challenges, and working at being one body of Christ (the first two pics are of three of the kids who are at the top of the group, and I took them out on a special outing for all their hard work!) Sadly, not all of them are. Some of them just gave up and stopped advancing in the group. Some of them just stopped coming all together. It seemed like they understood, but I don't know what happened. Please pray that their hearts will truly turn back to Jesus, and also pray for their parents to help them with their verses and challenges and to be more involved in their kids' lives.
We're now into the new year, and I'm excited for all that God has in store! I am currently in the process of officially partnering up with Baja Christian Ministries, so please be in prayer with me for that! God has so many wonderful things in store for this new year, and I can't wait to tell you all the amazing things that happen when they happen!
I want to give a special thank you to Pastors Jerry and Joy and Grace Christian Church, Pastors Dan and Renee and Life Church, Pastor Ken and Wow Church, Mr. Mooy and Grace Community Church, and Pastors Jim and Babette and Home Church Langley for your amazing support and for allowing me to present at your churches this past year. It truly meant so much to me and then some, and I hope to see you all again very soon!
