We're All Missionaries!! (October 2017 Newsletter)
Sorry for being so late with this. October was pretty busy for me and was over before I knew it. For those of you who are unaware, this will be were I post my blogs for now on (danielratz.blogspot.com is going to be dormant for now). Also, I had stated that I would make newsletters once every two months, but monthly seems more right. I'm weird. I know.
This month at Kids Club, we're talking about how we're all missionaries for God!! God calls us to "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded..." (Matt. 28:19-20a ESV). We've been learning that we can become the greatest missionaries by drawing closer to God through prayer, reading His Word, and showing His love to everyone through everything that we do. I've already seen the kids walk this out, one of those times being at the corner store nearby!! It's so great seeing these kids truly giving their all for God and reaching out to the hurting world around them.
Two of my kids, Fernando and Luis, have been going through a lot of spiritual battles lately. Fernando gets all excited at home for church, and the moment he gets there, he's all upset and bored. For Luis, it's the same, but instead of upset and bored, it's making fun of and bothering other people. I had a serious talk with them about their attitudes, to which they replied that they didn't know why they acted that way. Usually, a kid says that they don't know to hide the real reason why they are misbehaving. In this case, however, they truly had no idea, which is what God confirmed to me, as well. I explained to them what it says in Ephesians 6:12, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." I explained to them that it was the evil spirits that the devil uses to make them act that way. Fernando had said that he was scared after hearing that, but I reassured him that he is a son of his Heavenly Father, the best father in the whole world, and if God is our Father, then He will protect us from the attacks of the devil. I also explained that we need to draw close to God through prayer and by reading His Word, and we need to put on God's armor daily to be protected. Fernando and Luis said they both understood and were willing to try to draw closer to God. Please pray for Fernando and Luis as they take a step forward towards God, as the attacks from Satan are going to grow bigger. Pray that nothing sways them to the right or left, but that they continue straight on the path to God. Pray that nothing stops them from living for God with all of their hearts. Pray that they can also be examples for their families.
